Impact of Social Media on Electoral Politics

Dr. Subramanian Swamy, while sharing his close relationship with social media, said that social media has greatly helped him in exposing various corruption scandals. Social Media is silently but steadily changing the shape of media mechanism in its fundamentals. One particular example given was verification of electoral roll using the social media. He said that his objection of EVM has been vindicated by the Supreme Court as the court has ordered to start ‘voter verifiable paper audit trail’ to avoid any kind of discrepancy.

 

 

According to him, the state in recent past has perused foreign policy without any vision and that has more than often led to discomfiture for India.
